Nowadays, it's very important to use the time well. And as we see, you are very good at it. You started to work when you were 15, 4 years later you had your first agency, then married and had 2 children. After such great experiences, award winning graphic designer Ademilson Batista da Silva is only 25 years old. Where are you planning to be in the future?

Yes, that is the real way to living the life on the limit, some people think they need a rope to jump off of a building. It's not right ;-PI hope in a near future I could be work for more big brands doing what I most like, my own style with full colored swirls. And find time to traveling the world.

And what about the little Batistas? Will they go behind their dad and be graphic artists? Or do you prefer something different?

Different, please. Maybe an rock star, soccer player, something with more budgets :-)

You worked both as a freelance designer and in an agency with great success. But as we know, you prefer working as a freelancer. What do you think a person should do to make his or her own agency more famous and greater?

Contract good employes, needs heads up and some others to produce well, and sometimes need to invest in projects without budgets just to get more prestigious. Famous become from great projects realized, but sometimes that projects you received almost nothing in money.

You worked for great companies like Volkswagen, Audi and Pepsi. Which project excited you most? (Can it be the wonderful Havaianas? :)

Havaianas, of course. I had the Havaianas design in mind before I get the briefing, I saw the colors before I start to use them, I start to design Havaianas in Black and White and I was not worried to put them, because I saw them all time. The ideas is flowing, my style was born and everybody around me who looks to my screen was wondering with the small details. I did with Havaianas website what I had in mind, sometimes need to do some adjusts I dislike, but it's normal. If I would have a chance, I would make again.

We know that you are a Macintosh fan. What softwares do you mostly use for your illustrations?

Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

How do you evaluate the future of illustration? Do you believe computer technology makes people lazy in some ways?

No, computer is only a tool, for good illustrations needs more than computers, needs talent. I know there is some filters to make photos appear likes illustrations, but for good eyes is not the same.

In which period of time and with which artists would you like to share your dining table if you have one chance? Can you tell some names who impressed you in the art history?

Any period with my friends?designers and illustrators, who likes my work and want to know me and see I am just one person trying to gain the life. In the art history, maybe Da vince, I haven't idols. I am a simple guy from a pour quarter showing my work to the world.

What's the role of music in your inspirational world?

Music make me dance and happy, maintain wake up. Maybe you laugh, but I like Dance Music, 70's, trash 80's and 90's and electronic, house, techno, Elvis :-P

Are you interested in movies? Which directors and which country styles do you find closer to yourself in visual terms?

Yes, I love watch movies and I like the Quentin Tarantino, Brian Singer, Fernando Meirelles and the director from Lord of the Rings, I don't remember now his name. Most films I see is US productions I don't know if is closed to my visual terms, I like blockbuster cinema. What is the question? (Chicken Little)

Theme of our 5th issue is "Game". As a person from the heart of football, from the place where Tele Santana, who says "Football is art" lives in, do you like this beautiful game? Did you watch the world cup matches?

I love football, love play and see, I am very fan and I go to stadiums when I can to see my team, Corinthians. I saw 90% of the games of the world cup and I am very disappointed with my Brazil, the bests game was Argentina - Serbia and Portugal - Holland.

Zamanı doğru kullanmanın çok önemli olduğu bir dönemde yaşıyoruz. Gördüğümüz kadarıyla siz bu konuda oldukça başarılısınız. Henüz 15 yaşında çalışmaya başladınız, 4 yıl sonra ilk ajansınızı kurdunuz. Bugün 25 yaşında, evli, iki çocuk babası bir genç ve ödüllü bir grafik tasarımcısınız. Gelecekte kendinizi nerede görüyorsunuz?

Evet, bu tam olarak hayatı sınırında yaşamak anlamına geliyor. Bazı insanlar binadan atlamak için bir ipe ihtiyaçları olduğunu düşünüyorlar. Bu doğru değil. Yakın gelecekte, renkli kıvrımlar içeren kendi tarzımda işlerimi daha büyük firmalar için yapmayı istiyorum. Ve dünyayı gezmek için zaman bulabilmeyi...

Küçük Batista'lar için ne düşünüyorsunuz? Babalarının izinden gidip onlar da grafik tasarımcı mı olacaklar, yoksa farklı bir meslek mi öneriyorsunuz?

Lütfen farklı olsun. Belki bir rock yıldızı, futbolcu, veya daha fazla para kazanabilecekleri bir meslek :)

Hem serbest olarak, hem de ajans bünyesinde yaptığınız çalışmalarla çok başarılı oldunuz. Ancak bildiğimiz kadarıyla serbest çalışmayı tercih ediyorsunuz. Sizce ajans kurmuş bir tasarımcının, onu büyütmek ve daha popüler hale getirmek için neler yapması gerekiyor?

Çalışacakları insanları iyi seçmeleri ve prestij kazanmak için bazen kazançsız projelere de katılım göstermeleri. Popülarite, hatırlanan güçlü projeler üretmekle olur. Fakat bazen onlar hiç para etmez.

Volkswagen, Audi ve Pepsi gibi dev şirketlerin işlerini yaptınız. Sizi en çok heyecanlandıran proje hangisi oldu? (Adınızla anılan Havaianas olabilir mi?)

Tabii ki Havaianas! Tasarım talimatını almadan önce o tasarımı zihnimde canlandırmıştım. O renkleri, kullanmaya başlamadan önce görmüştüm. Havaianas'ın tasarımına siyah beyaz olarak başladım. Hiç çekinmedim çünkü daha önce kafamda kurmuştum. Fikirler uçuşuyordu, tarzım doğdu ve etrafımdaki herkes ekranıma küçük detayları merak ederek bakmaya başladı. Çoğunlukla hayallerimi ekrana yansıttım. Tabii arada istemediğim değişiklikler yapmak durumunda da kaldım ama, o kadarı da normal. Bir şansım daha olsa bu projeyi tekrar yapardım.

Bir Macintosh hayranı olduğunuzu biliyoruz. İllüstrasyonlarınızda en çok hangi yazılımları kullanıyorsunuz?

İllüstrasyonun geleceğini nasıl görüyorsunuz? Bilgisayar teknolojisinin insanları bazı konularda tembelleştirdiği düşüncesine katılıyor musunuz?

Hayır, bence bilgisayar sadece bir araçtır. İyi illüstrasyonlar için bilgisayardan daha fazlasına, 'yeteneğe' ihtiyaç vardır. Fotoğrafları illüstrasyon gibi gösteren bazı program efektleri olduğunu biliyorum. Ama doğru bakan gözler gerçeği anlayacaklardır.

Bir şansınız olsaydı; tarihin hangi döneminde, hangi sanatçılarla yemek masanızı paylaşmak isterdiniz? Sanat tarihinde sizi etkileyen isimlerden birkaçını öğrenebilir miyiz?

Herhangi bir zamanda arkadaşlarımla, işlerimi seven ve beni tanıyan tasarımcı ve illüstratörlerle olabilir. İdollerim yoktur ama sanat tarihinden belki Da Vinci olabilir. Sadece hayatı yaşamaya ve işlerini dünyaya göstermeye çalışan sıradan bir insanım ben.

Yaratıcı dünyanızda müziğin rolü nedir?

Müzik beni mutlu eder, uyandırır, dans ettirir. Belki güleceksiniz ama dans müziğini, 70'leri, 80'lerin trash'ını, 90'ları ve elektronik müziği, house ve teknoyu severim. Bir de Elvis'i :)

Sinemayla ilgileniyor musunuz? Görsel bakış açınıza hangi yönetmenler ve hangi ülkelerin tarzları daha yakın geliyor?

Evet, film seyretmeyi çok severim. Quentin Tarantino, Brian Singer, Fernando Meirelles ve Lord of The Rings'in yönetmeni... (Adını hatırlayamadım) Ayrıca neredeyse tüm Amerikan filmleri.

Bak Dergisi'nin 5. sayısında konumuz "oyun". Futbolun kalbinin attığı, "Futbol bir sanattır" diyen Tele Santana'nın yaşadığı ülkeden, Brezilya'dan yanıt veriyorsunuz. Bu güzel oyunu beğeniyor musunuz? Dünya kupası maçlarını izlediniz mi?

Futbola bayılıyorum. Oynamayı da izlemeyi de çok seviyorum. Ciddi bir taraftarım ve zaman zaman takımım Corinthians'ı izlemeye stadyuma da gidiyorum. Dünya Kupası maçlarının %90'ını izledim ve Brezilya beni büyük hayalkırıklığına uğrattı. En güzel maçlar Arjantin – Sırbistan ve Portekiz – Hollanda maçlarıydı.
